Audio-Technica ATH-AL5NC Review 2026 — can a wireless open-back headphone really deliver the spacious sound of an open design while giving you the convenience of Bluetooth?
In this Unfiltered Tech review, we take a closer look at the Audio-Technica ATH-AL5NC and what makes these headphones different from the usual wireless models.
The ATH-AL5NC combines an open-back design with 53mm dynamic drivers, Bluetooth connectivity, LDAC support, multipoint pairing, long battery life, wired listening, and additional sound customization features.
But there are also some important trade-offs.
Because these are open-back headphones, they aren’t designed to provide the same level of isolation as traditional closed-back headphones. Sound can also escape from the earcups, making the listening environment an important factor.
In this video, we look at the design, sound approach, wireless features, battery life, comfort, connectivity, and who these headphones may be best suited for.
